Mission Statement

The mission of City of Palms Model United Nations Conference is to provide a challenging and academic experience to high school students in Southwest Florida. We allow delegates to discuss demanding world views and to resolve conflicts through debate, compromise, and diplomacy. We strive to ensure fairness in evaluating delegates and look to instill a greater appreciation of international affairs.

Letter from the Secretariat

Dear Delegates and Moderators,

It is our greatest pleasure to welcome you to the fourth annual City of Palms Model United Nations Conference (COPMUN) held on November 1 and 2, 2019. We look forward to meeting everyone at the conference this November!

Model UN serves as an outlet for high school students to participate in interactive democratic debates, preparing them for their future in a variety of diverse fields. Knowing this, the

Secretariat provides a challenging, diplomatic experience for all delegates.

This year, at City of Palms Model United Nations Conference held at Bishop Verot Catholic High School, we will focus on contestable topics that challenge delegates to follow their representative country’s foreign policy. Our topics are versatile and encourage delegates to develop comprehensive resolution papers. As the Secretariat, we will ensure a complex, academic experience allowing delegates to debate controversial international issues using diplomatic measures.

All registration will be electronically submitted by the deadline of September 30, 2019. The Secretariat can be reached at copmunbvhs@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing everyone in November and enjoying the fourth annual COPMUN alongside the delegates, moderators, and staff.

About Our Charity

Fountains Of Hope

The charity we have chosen for this year's COPMUN IV is Fountains of Hope. FoH installs reliable and sustainable water purification systems for those in need of clean water. Fountains of Hope believes in building relationships as the best way for the future of providing safe water. Not only do they encourage donating to help install these water hardware systems , but also experiencing the adventure of taking life-changing machines to all corners of the world. As the water crisis is very pertinent in many countries, providing clean water sources to impoverished, disaster stricken, or vulnerable people is very appropriate to be raising awareness for the future and current leaders alike.

Donations To The Bahamas

Due to hurricane Dorian, the Bahamas was left with very little. Houses were torn apart, and flooding covered the majority of the islands. We would like to help out our neighbors by donating to a Dorian relief organization.
